Mountain biking in Les Diablerets and meal on the Terrasse d'Isenau

Description

The authentic village of Les Diablerets, in the heart of the Alpes Vaudoises, invites you for a sporty and gourmet mountain biking adventure towards the Terrasse d’Isenau. After collecting your mountain bike (or Gravel bike) from the Jacky Sport shop in the village centre at 9am, set off on the ‘Isenau Bike’ route by downloading the GPX coordinates beforehand.

From the Coop crossroads, cross the cantonal road and then take the Chemin du Plan, between the La Couronne restaurant and the Hôtel Les Lilas. The climb will take you past a number of local sights, perfect for a contemplative break.

Continue towards Le Lavanchy, then La Dia, before taking a carriage road towards the hamlet of Ayerne. You'll pass through a charming little village of typical old chalets, a real picture-postcard setting.

Once you arrive in Isenau, you'll have a superb gourmet break on the Terrasse d'Isenau 360°, which offers one of the most beautiful panoramas in the whole region. A must for the locals, the scenery here is so sublime that your morning exertions will soon be forgotten! Depending on your reservation, you can enjoy a tasty platter of dried meats and local cheeses, or a delicious fondue. All accompanied by a glass of wine, of course.

To begin the descent, we recommend that those less comfortable on a mountain bike follow the Chemin des Moilles to Lac Retaud (where you can even take a swim with a panoramic view of the Diablerets massif!). Then continue along the carriage road to the Col du Pillon. The more assiduous (or daredevils) can continue to follow the GPX route, but beware... some of the sections are quite technical and difficult!

Finally, after passing the Col du Pillon, admire the spectacular Cascade du Dar on your left, a final natural jewel to bring your adventure to a close before returning your equipment to Jacky Sport at 5.45pm at the latest.

Please note: the ‘Isenau Bike’ route is demanding. Please check with the Tourist Office if necessary. For those who have booked without the meal at the Terrasse d'Isenau, there are many other mountain bike routes to explore in the region.
